If you are given 30 days to respond and provide information it is VERY likely those 30 days will expire BEFORE the IRS processes your response even if you respond within the required time. Lastly, remember during an audit you are entitled to representation, so hire a qualified tax professional. It will save you a tremendous amount of frustration.
